The doctors and team at Connecticut Family Dental are pleased to be able to offer beautiful smiles to their neighbors in Waterbury and the surrounding communities.
Originally an aspiring artist, Dr. Tulasi Vikram was drawn to dentistry after a chance visit to the dentist as a child. The daughter of a general physician, Dr. Vikram has an inherited passion for helping people that's a perfect match when combined with the meticulous craftsmanship of dentistry. In pursuit of her career, she studied for five years to become a dentist in Bangalore, India. She then moved to the U.S., where she graduated from New York University with a doctor of dental surgery degree. Her postgraduate education includes training in endodontics (root canal treatment) and composite (white) fillings, as well as Six Month Smiles orthodontics that allow her to provide her patients with a picture-perfect smile in a very short time. Dr. Vikram is very active in the community, volunteering as an oral educator for the Salvation Army, providing free dentistry through the Connecticut Mission of Mercy free dental clinic (CT MOM), and taking time to visit local schools to educate children on dental health. She also serves as a dental consultant for Lighthouse Day Care Centers. She and her husband Amit have one child, and in her spare time, she enjoys painting and music.
Dr. Campbell was intrigued by the field of dentistry, as it incorporated her love for sculpture and her desire to educate and help others. Her passion for dentistry increased after she had braces, shadowed her general dentist and orthodontist, and engaged in multiple dentistry-related summer programs prior to starting her undergraduate career. She attended Oakwood University for her bachelor's degree, followed by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After graduating with her doctorate of dental surgery, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Howard University College of Dentistry. Since then, she has continued her education with additional training in local anesthesia, dental trauma, and restorative dentistry, most recently with a course that allows her to provide her patients with removable dentures that are aesthetically pleasing and functional. Dr. Campbell and her husband, Dr. Earl V. Campbell III, have a loving European Golden Retriever they love to take on long walks and nature trails. She also enjoys reading, shopping, running 5K, 10K, and half-marathon races, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Josephine's strong calling to the health profession led her to pursue a degree in dental hygiene from the University of New Haven, where she gained knowledge in preventing dental-related diseases. She began her professional career caring for the geriatric patient and believes that a person's overall quality of oral health leads to greater joy and happiness. Her motto is "a healthy mouth is a healthy body." With a strong sense of compassion and service, she recently traveled on a mission project to educate and donate oral health care products to a school in Africa. She makes each patient feel welcome and comfortable while addressing everyone's oral concerns. She enjoys spending time with her family when not working.
